Noemie’s works delves on the condition of the mind and body of the contemporary girl and woman. She turns collected testimonies into visuals of materialized fears and desires, denounces sexist education through forever jailed dolls, and the stigma surrounding pregnancy into crude and colourful drawings.
Fascinated by the metamorphosis processes of the body through the help of plastic surgery, make-up and other beauty methods, she takes interest in the mental outcome of such cultural practices on younger generations of girls, and projects to the adult viewer the direct consequences of modern beauty culture. The traditional relationship between the doll and little girl is taking a brutal turn, and Noemie’s work portray those changes.
Her work includes different medias, such as installation, drawing and photography. She is currently working on her on-going “little girls” series.
